Our history

Escale aux épices is a brand of La Fabrikathé, a family and artisanal company that creates and assembles by hand all its spice, tea and plant blends in its workshop located in Pouilly les Nonains, near Roanne, in the Loire (42).

With our know-how as a craftsman blender, we started the spice adventure in 2020 with the desire to offer spice blends and fleur de sel assembled by hand in the workshop, rigorously selected peppers from around the world and herbs grown in our plantation.

Our small family business lives today thanks to 20 employees, 20 passionate collaborators with unique and complementary skills. More than half of them live in the village.

All our projects are worked and decided in team with a lot of exigency what allows us to provide high quality products to our customers.

We are proud to be a family business where each member contributes to the achievement of our common goals.

How are our spice blends assembled?

Jean-Pierre is a former chef in the gastronomic restaurant business. Trained by great chefs, in particular by Chefs Pierre and Jean Troisgros, he also worked at Guy Martin's in Divonne les Bains and all over the world for 20 years.

As you can see, Jean-Pierre is a true palate who hand blends all our spices, aromatics, salts... always making sure to use the best ingredients and the perfect proportions to offer you unique and delicious flavors.

In short, you can be sure that our spices are assembled with care and passion. We are proud to offer you these high quality products and we hope you enjoy their flavor as much as we do (as we often serve as a test panel... Yes, we have a tough job!).
